Lexmark has announced they will no longer be producing inkjet printers, instead they intend to focus on laserjet printers and MPS (managed print services). As mentioned in one of our previous blog posts, MPS systems are not as friendly to the consumer pocket book as they are made out to be. MPS guarantee sales, whether the consumer is printing or not.
Lexmark states they will be honoring warranties and selling the consumables, however they did not publicly announce a timeline for these promises. It is assumed by many wholesalers carrying the Lexmark inkjet that they will be discontinued by summer of 2015.
